Having recently secured investment from Beech Tree Private Equity, our strategy is to continue our growth organically but to also make a number of strategic acquisitions.

Focus of the role

Responsible for all financial and management accounting activity within the business. Pro-active cash and working capital management. Development of insightful management reporting and performance analysis. Key interface role between Operations and Sales teams. This is a hands-on role.

Main duties:
• Month end close through to issuing internal and external reporting packs
• Monthly Group consolidation
• Management of overheads to budget/cost control
• Working capital management, maximising cash balances in the business
• Budgeting and forecasting, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Bank covenant reporting
• Financial support to Operations and Sales teams
• Development of additional commercial and margin analysis
• Systems development and process automation – continuous improvement ethos
• Maintenance of accounting policies and compliance with statutory requirements
• Tax compliance activity – VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax

Person specification:
• Educated to degree level with a recognised accounting qualification (ICAEW or CIMA)
• Minimum two years’ experience in a financial management role
• Exposure to IT or related sector, working within a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
• A proven understanding and ability to analyse performance data, analyse trends and build reporting packs
• Experience of managing working capital within a business
• Experience of business acquisitions and subsequent systems integrations would be advantageous
• An ability to pay strict attention to detail in all aspects of the job ensuring deadlines are met as necessary, with an attitude of caring about what they do and the impact they make
• Eagerness to take ownership and responsibility for own activities and to pick issues up and work to successful resolution
