Financial Accountant

Reports to: CFO

Location: Manchester (Balanced remote working available)

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30, with 1 hour lunch break

Salary: Competitive (DOE)

Focus of the Role:

As a Financial Accountant for BCN Group, you’ll be an important part of the wider Finance and Operations team in a high growth business where no two days will be the same.

The newly created role will focus on the technical accounting aspects of the Finance and Operations team’s responsibilities but will also have active involvement in commercial areas such as working capital management, fund raises, acquisition due diligence and deal completion. You will also mentor others in the team around technical accounting, tax and audit issues.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Intangible assets, including internal capitalisation and R&D tax credits
  • Tangible assets
  • Working capital management, cash and credit control
  • Corporation Tax and VAT, compliance, planning and group structures
  • Lead and own a Group restructuring and hive across
  • Balance sheet reconciliations management to audit quality
  • Deferred income review and management
  • Acquisition accounting
  • Accounting policy standardisation and enforcement
  • Overall value KPIs and analysis, compilation, development and interpretation
  • Management of company insurances
  • Bank and covenant reporting and forecasting
  • Primary audit contact point

 

Person Specifications:

  • A graduate with a strong academic background
  • Qualified accountant, preferably ACA, with experience of working in audit within a practice
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting workload and schedules in line with the business and customer needs
  • Demonstrate a very high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a ‘Can-Do’ attitude
  • Be an excellent and confident communicator
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages – advanced user in Excel and at least intermediate in PowerPoint
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
