All businesses must follow the waste duty of care rules, but if your business or organisation produces or uses packaging, or sells packaged goods, you may be classed as an obligated packaging producer, and additional rules must be followed. If you have manufactured or imported 10 or more tonnes of plastic packaging in the last 12 months, you may need to register for the plastic packaging tax.
