EasySPC: Release notes

At BCN we’re constantly evolving and improving our statistical analysis tool, EasySPC, to deliver better results for our customers. Here’s the details of our latest releases, the new and improved features as well as the fixes.

1.0.4.1: October 2024 

New and Improved

  • NEW: Capability Analysis.
  • Added the ability to calculate capability scores (inc CPK, PPK and Defect per Million) at the click of a button on each chart.
  • Added the ability to sort on capability scores within Spotlight to identify priority areas for improvement.
  • Added the last time special cause was detected within Spotlight and additional filter options to identify stable/unstable processes.
  • Added DD-MM-YY-TT X-axis format option to allow for multiple data points on the same day, including the US date format.
  • Removed Spotlight settings in view mode to prevent settings being updated by report viewers.

Bug fixes

  • Improved Spotlight performance and fixed freezing issues.
  • Fixed annotations being removed from Spotlight.
  • Baseline and Annotations no longer automatically removed when adding upper and lower specification limits (USL/LSL).
  • Auto-scale chart for USL/LSL and target.

  • You can now set direction of travel for individual charts within Spotlight.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the Y-Axis issues when applying a multiplier in the y axis settings.
  • Fixed the X axis scroll issue where annotation was not locking to the month.
  • Xbar charts now working correctly with large sample sizes.
June 2024

New and improved

  • NEW CAPABILITY: Spotlight
  • Added the option to include the denominator value on the x-axis.
  • Added the option to set the direction of travel arrow to Static or Dynamic.
  • Added the option to set the shape of the data point marker.
  • Added the option to set the y-axis format to x1,000 and x10,000.
  • Added the option to set the x-axis as every nth value.
  • Added the option to change the axis’ colour.
  • Added the option to show upper and lower specification limits (USL/LSL).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the visual flicker when hovering over the ‘Quick chart settings’ icon.
  • Date format in the chart hover over now matching the x-axis format, for example, when US date format set.
  • Annotations markers are now displaying on the chart and appearing where they should.
  • Auto shift for run charts now default to 6 points (best practice) and consistent with hover over text.
  • Target label now displays when enabled.
  • X-axis scroller now displays when enabled.
  • Red dotted line no longer straddling the XBarS chart border.
  • X-axis scroll no longer straddling the y-axis.
  • Hide lower control limit now working as expected.
  • Second chart setting for XBarS no longer enables second chart for everything

  • Added ability to set US date formats
  • Added option to enable MDC icons and MDC data point colours independently from each other when using the XmR or XbarS charts
  • Added ability to annotate second chart when using the XmR or XbarS charts
  • Added ability to ghost data points on second chart
  • Can now set UCL to 100% on processes with 100% as the maximum value
  • Can set LCL to zero if negative values are impossible

  • If you enable MDC icons the desired direction of travel icon will now use MDC colours
  • If you enable MDC icons the datapoints now use MDC colours based upon your desired direction of travel
  • Added tooltips to the MDC icons
  • Added Segoe UI as a font option
  • You can now set the location of the target label to appear either to the left or right hand side of the chart
  • Added the ability to set the number of decimal places shown on the y axis independently of the overall chart decimal place setting
  • When turning the target line on the new default is for it to appear as an in-chart target line
  • Added a new label setting to allow you to hide negative LCL labels
  • Added the ability to set the start location of scrolling charts to ither the left or right
  • Added the ability to set a baseline based on the number of datapoints in addition to selecting the baseline datapoint

Fixes

  • PV charts that are supplied with null denominators will now show a friendly error message rather than a blank visual
  • If axis titles are used, we have added some additional padding to avoid an issue where the title could overlap the axis values
  • You can now use a target measure that only contains partial data which allows for partial target lines
  • If in-chart target line is set to a value off the scale of the chart the chart will now auto scale to include it in view
