Challenge

Develop and enhance the Trusts new ‘Capacity and Demand Tracker’ to identify additional indicators for a daily briefing for senior managers. It needed to be in a user friendly format for user to quickly identify issues with capacity and available demand.

Solution

BCN’s Power BI and Healthcare team worked closely with Cheshire & Merseyside Health and Care Partnership to evolve their tracker and create a bespoke dashboard.

Results

The solution automatically generates a daily briefing report to senior managers across the region. All 20 Trusts in Cheshire and Merseyside can drilldown the report and show the data they need to compare and identify hotspots within the system.

  • The tracker highlights where demand is building up so action can be taken before it reaches a critical point
  • It covers a wide range of indicators across both primary and secondary care; A&E acute, care homes, domiciliary care, community and mental health
